The most common is to use an affiliate network that have the technology for this. Usually comission is tracked through cookies or IP when someone clicks an affiliate link and then buys something.
DO I NEED TO ADD SOME TECHNOLOGY?
Normaly yes, unless you track with discount codes. You will receive scripts from the affiliate platform that you add to your website. Depending on which platform you use you will receive instructions and help to add the technology.
